UpShift has worked with FROMM Winery, a boutique winery in Marlborough, since 2016. We built their website then, and in 2022 they were ready for an update.

Our Project Manager Prapti Mane, and Creative Director Matt Robinson, headed over to Blenheim from Nelson to meet with the team at FROMM. Though we specialise in digital services, UpShift commits where possible to meeting clients face-to-face. It’s a chance to connect with people, which we love, and to really understand their unique needs  

In this case, the need was twofold: primarily, updating the site to the Shopify 2.0 e-commerce platform, and modernising the look. FROMM manages the content of the site themselves – with support as needed from UpShift – so we were really happy to introduce them to the latest iteration of Shopify, which is more user-friendly than its predecessors. 

“I’m not a very technical person,” says FROMM’s administrator Wendy, who takes the lead on updating their web content. “I’m always busy and I need things to be quick and easy. Working in the ‘back end’ of the site was becoming more difficult as the platform became outdated, so we knew it was time for an update.”

UpShift got to work. We were tightly focused on making the Shopify 2.0 process as easy for FROMM as possible, and creating an appealing and easy to navigate visual experience for their customers.

Our Creative Director Matt began developing visual concepts to present to FROMM. This process includes evaluating the existing brand – colours, fonts, imagery, how information is presented on the site. After additional industry research, he created a clean, modern and easy e-commerce website for FROMM’s approval.

The changes were developed and implemented by our dev stars Sheldon Mazzola and William MacGregor. 

Project Manager Prapti hosted a training session to guide FROMM through making changes to the site using the updated Content Management System in Shopify 2.0.

For example, one of the things we requested to be added to the site was a booking process, so people could book in to visit our cellar door and do tastings.
